Description Muskat Tairovsky
Muskat Tairovsky is a grape variety developed at the V.E. Tairov Institute and recommended for cultivation in the Odessa and Mykolaiv regions. The vines of this variety have moderate growth vigor, and the leaves are five-lobed and deeply divided. The berries are oval, large, black with a dark blue tint and a dense bloom. The flesh is juicy and flesh-textured, with a strongly pronounced muscat aroma, which makes the grape particularly attractive for both fresh consumption and winemaking.

This variety is characterized by early ripening and high yield, ranging from 75 to 120 centners per hectare, with an average fruiting rate of about 100 centners per hectare. The grape has good sugar content (16–17%) and acidity (6–7 g/l), making it suitable high-quality raw material for winemaking. Muskat Tairovsky is resistant to pests and certain diseases, but requires preventive treatments against mildew and oidium to maintain plant health.

This variety exhibits high winter hardiness and can withstand temperatures down to -20°C, allowing cultivation without covering in regions with minimum temperatures not lower than -18 to -19°C. Due to its characteristics, Muskat Tairovsky is suitable for cultivation in moderate climate zones and is an excellent choice for both table consumption and production of aromatic wines.
