Malievchanka — this is an early-autumn pear variety developed at the Transnistrian Experimental Fruit Station. The tree is strongly-growing with a wide, medium-dense pyramidal crown. Main branches of the lower tier branch off from the trunk at an angle of 40–50°, while upper branches branch off at an angle of 50–80°. The bark on the trunk is cracked, while on main branches it is smooth and light-gray. Leaves are large, green, shiny, egg-shaped with entire margins. The variety is winter-hardy, low-maintenance in growing conditions, resistant to scab, and weakly affected by bacterial leaf spot. Flowering occurs in mid-late season, and fruiting begins on the 5–6th year after planting depending on the rootstock. Fruits are large, averaging 250–270 grams, with individual specimens reaching 350–570 grams. They have a regular pear shape with smooth, thin but tough skin, which turns greenish-yellow with possible slight blush during harvest maturity, and becomes light-yellow during consumer maturity. Small golden-brown spots may occasionally appear on the fruit surface. Flesh is slightly creamy, juicy, tender, melting, with a slightly sweet-tart taste and a mild pleasant aroma. Fruits have excellent flavor qualities and contain approximately 15.95% soluble solids, 11.28% sugars, 0.13% acids, 0.24% pectins, and 5.49 mg of vitamin C per 100 g of fresh weight. Harvest maturity occurs in the second decade of September, while consumer maturity occurs in the third. Fruits ripen simultaneously, hold well on the tree, and have good transportability. In refrigerated conditions, pears can be stored until mid-November, allowing their use in both commercial and hobby gardening. The variety is characterized by high yield: 7-year-old trees yield up to 18 kg of fruit, 11-year-old trees — up to 55 kg, and 12-year-old trees — up to 79 kg per tree. The average yield over five years for trees aged 9–13 years is around 39 kg. Malievchanka is suitable for cultivation under various conditions and is valued for its large, attractive, and tasty fruits, as well as its disease resistance.
