Description ANTIGONA
The Antigon grape variety is a late-ripening table variety characterized by high yield and large berries. Bushes have medium or above-average vigor, and clusters are cylinder-conical in shape with medium density, weighing between 150 and 400 grams. The berries are large, round, dark pink in color, with fleshy and juicy pulp having a distinct muscat flavor. Sugar content varies from 16.5 to 19%, while acidity is around 7-7.5 g/l, ensuring a harmonious taste and high tasting score. The variety is primarily used for fresh consumption and can be stored for up to 90-120 days.

Antigon is characterized by medium resistance to fungal diseases such as downy mildew and powdery mildew, while possessing high resistance to gray mold. Regular protection measures against fungal diseases are necessary to maintain plant health. The variety is not winter-hardy, withstands frosts down to -22-24°C, and is not resistant to phylloxera, however, it has good affinity with rootstocks Berlandieri x Riparia and others, allowing for successful use in viticulture. Pruning is recommended to 8-10 buds.

The variety's origin is linked to Yugoslavia, where it was obtained as a result of crossing the Hamburg Muscat and Smederevka varieties. Bushes are medium-height with five-lobed leaves and weak webbed pubescence. Berries contain a significant amount of sugars and titratable acids, making the variety suitable not only for table consumption but also for producing quality wine materials with a bright aroma and harmonious taste. The yield reaches 180-200 centners per hectare, confirming its high productivity.
