Festuca 'HARDTOP' is a perennial ornamental grass from the Festuca genus, grown in containers and sold as rooted plants. The plant reaches a height of 20–30 cm and a width of 15–25 cm; its leaves have a light blue-grey hue with fine lines that retain their brightness even in cold weather.
The soil requirements for Festuca 'HARDTOP' are quite flexible: the plant grows well in sunny spots and prefers light, well-drained soil. It tolerates both acidic, neutral, and alkaline soils and can develop in poor to moderately fertile soils. It is important to avoid waterlogging – Festuca does not like stagnant water.
Care for the plant is simple: rooted plants are propagated by dividing clumps; when planting, the hole should be 1.5–2 times wider than the root ball, and the bottom should provide good drainage. After planting, you can mulch the soil to retain moisture. Festuca 'HARDTOP' is resistant to diseases and pests, hardy to -25 °C, making it suitable for both open areas, rockeries, paths, and borders. Thanks to its compact growth and drought tolerance, the plant easily fits into various landscape compositions, creating dense, decorative cushions of green leaves.
