Bluegrass Limerick

Genetic Profile and Resilience

Limerick Kentucky bluegrass by Euro Grass Breeding KG is a breeding achievement focused on creating a dense, wear-tolerant turf. Unlike standard varieties, Limerick demonstrates pronounced resistance to key lawn pathogens: powdery mildew and red thread (Laetisaria fuciformis). High disease resistance is achieved through the selection of lines with an optimized immune response, minimizing the need for fungicidal treatments in sports and commercial applications.

Adaptability and Agronomic Performance

This variety is classified for versatile use. In terms of morphology, Limerick forms a mid-green leaf blade that maintains its aesthetic appeal even under intensive use. A key technical feature implemented by the breeders is the synergy between rapid shoot recovery and turf density. This makes the variety ideal for:

• Professional sports pitches subject to high-impact foot traffic.
• Public and private lawn areas requiring low-maintenance care.
• Projects requiring rapid self-repair of damaged turf areas.

The German breeding expertise of Deutsche Saatveredelung has enabled Limerick to adapt to varying climatic conditions, ensuring a stable, healthy turf stand throughout the entire growing season.
