Fescue RETU

Finnish Breeding for Resilient Landscapes

Tall fescue variety 'Retu', developed by Boreal Plant Breeding, represents the pinnacle of Finnish forage and turf genetics. Originating from the expert breeding program at Boreal Kasvinjalostus in Jokioinen, this variety is engineered to thrive in diverse environments, offering remarkable reliability for both agricultural and recreational land use.

Agronomic Profile and Performance

The strength of 'Retu' lies in its structural adaptability. Reaching heights between 60 and 100 cm, it features a robust root system characteristic of high-quality tall fescue. This deep-rooting capacity provides exceptional drought tolerance and persistence. The foliage is noted for its deep green color, which maintains its rich hue throughout the growing season, enhancing the overall visual appeal of any plot.

Versatile Applications

'Retu' serves as a dual-purpose solution, widely utilized in two primary sectors:

• Forage Production: Its high nutritional value and resilience to intensive grazing and frequent mowing make it a cornerstone for long-term pasture development.
• Landscape and Turf Management: The variety is frequently specified for commercial and residential landscaping where visual quality must be balanced with low-maintenance requirements. Its dark green aesthetic ensures a premium look in high-traffic green spaces.

With a legacy rooted in the rigorous testing protocols of Boreal Plant Breeding, 'Retu' remains a top-tier choice for professionals who require a dependable, consistent, and durable tall fescue variety in temperate climate zones.
