Bluegrass Sobra

A robust solution for intensive use

Kentucky Bluegrass 'Sobra' from the Danish seed house DLF is the go-to choice for professional groundskeepers and land managers who prioritize both aesthetics and functional durability. Thanks to its specific genetic traits, this variety thrives in environments where other grasses succumb to disease pressure or heavy mechanical wear.

Practical use cases

Choosing 'Sobra' is justified across three primary sectors:

• Sports facilities: Due to its high turf density, this variety is ideal for football pitches, tennis courts, and high-traffic recreational areas. It recovers rapidly after intense physical activity and trampling.
• Professional landscaping: Landscape designers value this variety for its deep color and uniform growth. It blends perfectly into seed mixtures for urban parks with high pedestrian traffic.
• Residential lawns: Homeowners choose 'Sobra' to maintain a lush, “evergreen” look with minimal intervention required to combat fungal outbreaks.

Technical advantages

The core strength of this variety is its inherent immunity. 'Sobra' exhibits high resistance to powdery mildew and red thread disease. In high-humidity environments or during temperature fluctuations, this characteristic significantly reduces the need for expensive fungicide applications. When the seedbed is prepared correctly, the grass shows reliable germination within 10–14 days, allowing for efficient lawn establishment even during tight seasonal windows.

Investing in DLF products means investing in longevity. The 'Sobra' variety is built to strict Scandinavian quality standards, ensuring consistent stand density and predictable, healthy growth throughout years of use.
