Barelite – hybrid variety of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor), specifically developed for cultivation in temperate climatic conditions. The variety is characterized by high yield, reaching up to 8–12 t/ha under optimal conditions, and resistance to a wide range of adverse factors.
Key characteristics include excellent frost resistance, good adaptation to different types of soils and climates, as well as low susceptibility to diseases such as fern, powdery mildew, and smut. Thanks to these properties, "BARELITE" ensures a stable yield even under drought and hot temperature conditions.
The grain of the variety is characterized by a large, dense mass (2–3 g/pl.) and high protein content (≈20%) and carbohydrates (≈70%). This makes it valuable both for flour production and for livestock feeding. The recommended sowing density is 20–25 kg/ha under normal soil conditions, and to achieve maximum productivity, nitrogen and phosphorus fertilizers should be applied according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
