Agro Star is a grain maize hybrid with high potential yield, designed for cultivation in various climatic zones. The hybrid belongs to the simple maize type with an FAO index of 180, ensuring intensive early growth and high plant vigor. Maize height reaches up to 260 cm, with the main ear attachment at 95-105 cm. The cylindrical ear, 20-25 cm long, contains 14-16 rows of kernels, with approximately 36 kernels per row. The kernels have a cream-colored, tooth-like shape, with a 1000-kernel weight of 295-305 g, indicating good kernel quality and density.
The hybrid features rapid moisture shedding, facilitating harvest and reducing the risk of yield loss. Agro Star exhibits high resistance to lodging and frost (9 points), as well as good drought tolerance (8 points). Additionally, it is tolerant to major disease pathogens, including common rust, powdery mildew, root and stalk rots, rust, cephalosporiosis, helminthosporiosis, and fusarium, ensuring stable yields and reducing the need for frequent protective treatments. Recommended planting rates vary depending on the cultivation zone: 80,000–85,000 plants per hectare in the Polissia region, 70,000–75,000 in the Forest Steppe, and 60,000–70,000 in the Steppe.
It is important to note that under the name Agro Star there also exists a selective herbicide intended for the eradication of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds in cereal and other agricultural crop fields, meadows, and pastures. This product exhibits high biological efficacy and gentle action on crops, allowing its use in tank mixtures with other pesticides and liquid fertilizers. However, in the context of this description, it refers specifically to the maize hybrid possessing high agronomic characteristics and resistance to adverse conditions.
