Gran 1

Gran 1 — a high-yielding hybrid of sweet corn, developed taking into account the climatic features of Ukraine. This versatile variety is suitable for cultivation for grain, silage, as well as for biogas and bioethanol production. Plants reach a height of 260-280 cm, with ears positioned at 100-110 cm, containing 16-18 rows of cream-colored, toothed yellow-orange kernels. The hybrid's potential yield reaches 16 tons per hectare, while actual yields may amount to 12 tons per hectare, making it a profitable choice for farmers. Gran 1 exhibits high resistance to various stress factors, including frosts during vegetation, drought during ear formation, and strong winds. A robust stem structure provides reliable protection against lodging, contributing to yield preservation. The hybrid shows resistance to common diseases such as blister rust, fusarium, and helminthosporium, reducing the need for intensive chemical plant protection. Cultivation of Gran 1 is recommended using zero or minimal tillage technologies, simplifying agronomic practices and lowering costs. Herbicide application before sowing is usually unnecessary or minimal, and during vegetation, herbicides and insecticides are applied as needed. Thanks to its adaptability and resilience to various soil-climate conditions, the Gran 1 hybrid is widely in demand on the domestic market and suitable for cultivation in various regions.
