Description Early Star
Corn Early Star (Early Star) is an early-maturing hybrid of grain corn developed by Euralis Semences and included in the State Register in several regions of Russia, including the Central Black Earth, North Caucasus, Ural, and West Siberian regions. The variety is characterized by high energy at the initial growth stage with FAO 180, ensuring rapid plant development and early tassel flowering. The plant reaches a height of up to 260 cm, with a cylindrical ear 20-25 cm long, containing 14-16 rows of kernels, each with a cream-colored, toothed shape and a 1000-kernel weight of 295-305 g. The variety has an accelerated moisture shedding rate, facilitating timely harvest.

Early Star exhibits high resistance to lodging (9 points), frost tolerance (9 points), and drought resistance (8 points), as well as resistance to a range of diseases, including common and downy mildew, root and stalk rot, rust, cephalosporiosis, and helminthosporiosis. However, the variety is susceptible to ear fusarium and moderately damaged by corn stalk borer. Recommended sowing rates vary depending on the growing region: 60,000 to 85,000 plants per hectare depending on the region.

This hybrid is intended for grain production and demonstrates high yields exceeding regional standards, for example, in the Central Black Earth region, average yield is 68.8 centners per hectare. Early Star is suitable for conventional and no-till cultivation methods (No-Till), making it a versatile choice for farmers seeking efficient and sustainable corn production.
