SY SCORPIUS corn seeds are a medium-maturing simple hybrid with FAO 290, designed to produce a stable and high yield of grain under various soil-climatic conditions in Ukraine, including Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polesie zones. The hybrid is characterized by high adaptability, enabling successful cultivation even in drought-prone and stressful conditions. Erect leaf shape enhances solar energy utilization, increasing photosynthetic activity and, consequently, yield potential.
One key feature of SY SCORPIUS is rapid grain moisture loss during maturation, allowing for early and efficient harvest. The hybrid demonstrates high agronomic performance: drought resistance and moisture loss are rated 9 points, cold tolerance — 8, and resistance to root and stalk rot as well as ear rot — 8-9 points. Recommended planting density varies depending on soil moisture: 70–80 thousand plants per hectare under adequate moisture, 60–70 thousand under unstable conditions, and 45–55 thousand under insufficient moisture.
For optimal growth, SY SCORPIUS should be sown when soil temperature ranges from +6 to +12°C, with seed depth ensuring rapid germination. The hybrid is suitable for early sowing and early harvest. Avoid using high rates of sulfonylurea herbicides during cultivation to prevent reduced plant productivity. Seed packaging contains 80,000 seeds, convenient for planning planting areas.
