Highbush blueberry 'Iksinskaya' is a variety developed at the Central Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences from wild forms. The bush is of medium height (50 to 70 cm), slightly spreading, with bent offshoots of light brown color and a matte surface.
The berries are large, oval-shaped with slight facets, dark blue with a bluish bloom. The taste is sweet and sour, not strongly aromatic, delicate when eaten fresh or in prepared products. The bush is resistant to low temperatures and is not affected by diseases.
The yield ranges from 0.27 to 0.9 kg per bush (or about 27 c/ha), making the variety suitable for a wide range of applications – both fresh and in canning, baking, and making beverages. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and versatility of use in all regions where blueberries are cultivated.
