The 'Elegant' blueberry variety is a compact bush with a height of 40–60 cm, characterized by weak spreading and medium growth. The berries are large (around 1.3 g), round, dark blue with a bluish bloom, tart-sweet, and have no noticeable aroma. The yield is high – from 0.5 to 0.8 kg of berries per bush, and the harvest is regular.
One of the main advantages of the variety is its high winter hardiness, which allows it to grow successfully in all regions of crop cultivation. Thanks to this, the plant maintains fruiting even in cold periods of the year and ensures a stable output of product. Moreover, 'Elegant' is distinguished by its large-fruitedness and yield, yet the bush remains low.
The variety was bred at the Central Botanical Garden of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and included in the state register in 1997, which confirms its recognition and widespread application. It is suitable for both home gardens and commercial cultivation, as well as can be used in cooking – fresh berries are suitable for desserts, jams, and other dishes.
