Blueberry NECTARNA

Siberian resilience in your garden

The 'Nektarnaya' (Nectar) blueberry is a product of the Central Siberian Botanical Garden, specifically bred to endure harsh climates where other varieties might fail. From an owner's perspective, this variety is highly predictable: it is adapted to significant climatic stressors, which minimizes the risk of crop loss due to late spring frosts.

Maintenance and cultivation

The secret to high productivity lies in the planting location. This cultivar demands full sun; in the shade, sugar levels drop and the shoots stretch unnecessarily, complicating maintenance. Care for 'Nektarnaya' is straightforward: keep the soil acidic and ensure consistent moisture. Mulching with pine needles is a recommended maintenance practice—it simplifies ground care by preventing weed growth and keeping the soil environment stable.

Harvesting experience

The primary asset of this variety is the size of the berry. Large fruit not only looks appealing but also dramatically reduces the time required for harvesting. The taste is well-balanced, featuring a pleasant sweet-and-sour profile, making it perfect for fresh consumption. The berries are noted for their firmness, ensuring excellent transportability—you can bring the harvest home without turning the fruit into a mush.

• Hardiness: High, verified by Siberian breeding standards.
• Type: Variety adapted for northern climates.
• Site selection: Full sun exposure is mandatory.
