Bluecrop

Bluecrop blueberry is one of the most popular and high-quality medium-late maturing varieties widely used in industrial cultivation in Europe. The bushes of this variety are tall, reaching heights of 1.6 to 2.0 meters, with upright stems directed upwards and dense crowns. To maintain optimal growth and fruiting, periodic pruning of the bushes is recommended. Bluecrop is characterized by high yield — from a mature bush, you can harvest 4 to 10 kg of berries per season.

The berries of the Bluecrop variety are large, up to 18 mm in diameter, have a flattened shape, and are clustered in small racemes. Their color is deep blue with a distinct light-blue bloom. The skin is dense, which ensures good transportability and long-term storage, as well as suitability for freezing. The flesh is sweet with a delicate acidity and pleasant taste, sometimes with a slight tartness, giving the berries a distinctive flavor with a cranberry undertone.

The Bluecrop variety is highly cold-resistant, tolerating temperatures down to -34°C, as well as resistance to spring frosts. It adapts well to various soil conditions, including acidic soils, and is weakly susceptible to diseases and pests. The bushes are low-maintenance, relatively well-tolerate drought, but poorly grow on wet sites. Thanks to these qualities, Bluecrop is one of the standard varieties for cultivating blueberries both on an industrial scale and in private gardens.
