Chanticleer blueberry is an early-ripening variety of garden blueberry widely used in commercial cultivation in Canada and the USA, as well as in private gardens. The bushes of this variety are tall, strong, and medium-sized, reaching heights of 1.6 to 1.8 meters. They have good cold resistance up to -30°C, allowing successful cultivation in various climatic conditions, including regions of Ukraine.
The berries of Chanticleer are large, with a diameter of 15 to 18 mm and a weight of about 1.5-2.1 grams. They have a round shape and a light-blue color with a characteristic bluish bloom. The flesh is dense and juicy, with a pleasant dessert-like sweet-tart flavor and a delicate aroma, making them especially attractive to consumers. Berries ripen in early July, allowing for an early harvest.
The average yield from one mature bush is 3 to 5 kg. The berries are well preserved and transportable, which is important for commercial cultivation and sales. Additionally, Chanticleer blueberry is a nutritious product rich in vitamins and minerals that help strengthen the immune system and improve metabolism.
