The feed bean variety "Red Bogatyr" belongs to the species Vicia faba L. and is characterized by a medium plant height – from 110 to 120 cm, which ensures convenient planting and harvesting. Its leaflets are green, of medium size, and a characteristic anthocyanin spot is often observed on the backside of each leaf part, giving the plant a decorative appearance.
Flowers are gathered in racemes on a long peduncle: they are white with black nervation and dark spots on the wings. The pod has a slightly curved shape with a pointed top; its coloration is intensely green, indicating a high degree of photosynthesis and green mass development. Seeds are small, light brown in color, smooth with a matte surface, and the seed coat is beige with a black hilum.
The yield of this variety is impressive: the maximum seed yield reaches 74.2 t/ha, and green mass yield – 82 t/ha. The vegetative period is approximately 100 days, allowing for sowing and harvesting planning within the standard agricultural calendar. Due to the combination of high productivity, resistance to adverse conditions, and favorable morphology, "Red Bogatyr" is considered one of the best options for feed crops.
