Description SIBIRSKIE
Sibirskie beans are a variety of forage beans (Vicia faba L.) bred by individual triple selection from a heterogeneous population K-2083 (Germany). The originators are the Federal Altai Scientific Center of Agrobiotechnology and the Siberian Federal Scientific Center of Agrobiotechnology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The variety belongs to the northern ecotype Minor Beck, which provides resistance to pod shattering and good adaptation to moderately dry and humid conditions in Western Siberia.

Physical plant characteristics include a medium height structure (90–130 cm), almost non-branching stems with 20–25 internodes, grayish-green leaves of medium length, and long. Flowering occurs with an early-medium term; inflorescences are racemes with 3–7 flowers. Pods are straight, pointed at the top, reach a length of 4–6 cm and a width of 0.9–1.2 cm, turn black upon maturation, and contain 3–5 seeds. Seeds are wide, elliptical in shape, with a beige hull, and a black hilum; the mass of 1000 seeds is about 400 g.

The nutritional value of the forage mass is high: crude protein content is 17.4%, protein in grain is 29.4%. Dry matter yield steadily reaches 70.5 ц/га, and grain yield is 34.7 ц/га. The vegetative period from germination to harvesting for feed is approximately 55 days, and for grain is 91–99 days. The variety demonstrates average resistance to diseases and pests, not inferior to the standard in terms of susceptibility.

Sibirskie beans are suitable for both producing forage mass and harvesting grains, ensuring high productivity and nutritional value in moderately dry regions. Their resistance to shattering and good adaptation make them a preferred choice for farmers seeking to improve the efficiency of forage crops.
