Beans Piquant

Why «Pikantni» is the choice for high-yield bean production

Developed by Iksgp Naan, the «Pikantni» variety is specifically bred for culinary excellence, focusing on the needs of growers who prioritize large-seeded crops for human consumption. Unlike field beans meant for forage, this variety is optimized for marketability and consistent quality.

Growth scenarios for different environments

• Open Field: Perfectly adapted to Ukrainian soil conditions, this variety shows excellent resilience. Its root system is strong enough to withstand standard seasonal climate shifts, making it a reliable crop for local farmers.
• Greenhouse Cultivation: By utilizing indoor growing techniques, farmers can significantly shift the harvest window, bringing premium early-season product to the market when prices are highest.

Practical agronomic features

The pod length of 8–10 cm is ideal for efficient manual harvesting. The large grain size makes the crop highly productive in terms of weight, reducing the labor hours required for handling and pre-sale processing. Since the variety is classified for universal usage, you are not locked into a single market channel: the harvest can be processed at the green stage for freezing or left to mature for the dry bean market.

For optimal results, prioritize structured, well-draining soils. While the variety is robust, its primary requirement for reaching maximum potential is moisture management during the flowering and pod-filling stages. It is a straightforward crop to manage, requiring standard cultivation practices without the need for specialized equipment or high-maintenance inputs, making it an excellent addition to any diversified crop rotation.
