Description Emily
Emily Basil — a mid-season variety developed by the Dutch seed company Hem Zaden, intended for year-round cultivation in protected soil. The plant forms a neat, compact bush with short internodes and a mass of about 250 grams. Leaves are oval-shaped, medium-sized, convex, and dark green in color, possessing a very rich aroma, which makes this variety particularly valuable for culinary use.

The Emily variety is distinguished by good resistance to low temperatures, allowing seedling planting at temperatures around +15°C. To obtain a maximum yield of greens, it is important to maintain an optimal level of soil moisture, avoiding drying out, as well as regularly loosening the soil to prevent the formation of a hard crust. The use of artificial lighting contributes to increased plant productivity. Basil retains an attractive commercial appearance for a long time, making it in demand for both fresh consumption and canning.

Emily is suitable for year-round cultivation in both open and protected soil, including potted and organic farming. Its dark green, elongated, and plastic leaves with intense aroma are widely used in fresh form and as a spicy addition when preparing various dishes. This basil variety combines high quality, versatility, and ease of cultivation, making it an excellent choice for professional and home gardeners.
