Basil Marian

Basil Marian is an early variety with medium-sized dark green leaves, developed by the Dutch seed company Enza Zaden. It is designed for year-round cultivation in both open and protected ground, including greenhouses, tunnels, and even home window sills. The plant forms a medium-height bush with upright oval leaves, slightly wavy at the edges, with a mass of about 250 grams. This variety is distinguished by high yield — up to 3.2 kg per square meter, as well as a wonderful pepper aroma, making it in demand for both fresh consumption and processing.

Marian is resistant to leaf edge burn and has increased resistance to diseases, which significantly eases care and reduces crop losses. It is not picky about growing conditions, withstands low temperatures well, thanks to which it maintains quality and marketable appearance even during transport in unfavorable conditions. For successful cultivation, basil prefers sunny or semi-shaded areas with light fertile soils and requires regular monitoring of soil moisture to maintain optimal hydration.

This variety of basil is widely used in cooking: its leaves are used fresh in salads and other dishes, and also dried and frozen for long-term storage.
