Rek also exhibits high resistance to major barley diseases, including powdery mildew, rust, helminthosporiosis, and scab, with resistance ratings of 8–9 points. Additionally, the variety is resistant to lodging, which helps preserve yield and simplifies harvest. The seeding rate is 3.2–3.6 million seeds per hectare, optimal for achieving maximum productivity.
