Winter barley variety Grail is a medium-maturing variety with a vegetation period of 74 to 86 days, making it suitable for use in forest-steppe and steppe regions. Plants reach a height of 50–63 cm and feature dense, sturdy stems that ensure uniform planting. The thousand-grain weight ranges from 39 to 54 grams, contributing to good germination and even crop development. The variety is intended for intensive agriculture and is widely used in the brewing industry due to its quality characteristics. Grail exhibits high resistance to adverse environmental conditions and diseases. Drought resistance is rated at 6–9 points, resistance to lodging and shattering — at 8–9 points. The variety shows resistance to diseases such as powdery mildew, helminthosporiosis, dwarf rust, and scab, with resistance ratings of 8 to 9 points. These qualities ensure stable yields and reduce losses during grain storage and transport. The potential yield of variety Grail reaches 7 tons per hectare, with actual productivity under various conditions ranging from 5.5 to 6.84 tons per hectare. Protein content in the grain ranges from 12.3% to 13.6%, making it attractive for food and brewing industries. Recommended storage conditions for seeds include a temperature of +7 to +10°C and humidity not exceeding 10%, which helps preserve seed quality. The variety was included in the State Register in 2019 and has proven itself as a reliable, high-yielding choice for farmers.
