Barley variety Southern is a cereal crop recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones. Southern exhibits high resistance to lodging and shattering, rated at 8 points, which reduces yield losses under adverse weather conditions. The variety was developed by the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and registered in 2001.
