Peremozhnyi

Peremozhnyi is a spring barley variety for brewing, registered in 2015 and developed by Nordsaat Saazucht GmbH. It is recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and Polissia zones, characterized by high yield, reaching 7.93 t/ha in experimental plantings and 80 centners/ha in production conditions on an 8-hectare area at the SТОV "Peremoga". Peremozhnyi features a two-row ear with short main awns and absence of pubescence on lower leaves and ventral beard. It is a vigorous type variety, allowing successful cultivation in Ukraine since 2016.

This barley shows good response to nitrogen fertilization; therefore, ammonium nitrate at a rate of 150-200 kg per hectare is recommended before sowing. Application of the growth regulator Tseron during the second internode stage is advisable to promote optimal plant development and improve grain quality. The seeding rate is 3.5-4 million germinable seeds per hectare, ensuring optimal stand density.

Barley Peremozhnyi is a valuable agricultural product used in the brewing industry due to its high starch and protein content. It is also utilized in feed and technical applications. Successful cultivation requires consideration of climatic conditions, as barley is sensitive to cold, excess moisture, and heat.
