Description Spitfire
Winter barley Spitfire is a medium-early variety with a vegetation period of 86 to 95 days and plant height of about 70 cm. This variety is highly adaptable to various climatic conditions and is recommended for cultivation in the Forest Steppe, Polesie, and Steppe zones. The thousand-grain weight ranges from 42.8 to 52.4 grams, indicating medium-sized kernels, with a seeding rate of approximately 200 kg per hectare.

Spitfire exhibits high resistance to major barley diseases such as helminthosporiosis, powdery mildew, and rust, each rated 8 on the resistance scale. Additionally, the variety shows excellent resistance to lodging and lodging (9 points), as well as high cold tolerance, withstanding temperatures down to -5°C. These characteristics ensure reliable and stable yields even under adverse conditions.

The barley variety Spitfire has a high yield potential, reaching up to 9 tons per hectare, making it attractive for agricultural production. Its high protein content (10.7-11.5%) and good tillering ability make it suitable for both brewing and feed purposes. Recommended storage conditions for seeds include temperatures from +7 to +10°C and humidity not exceeding 10%, which helps preserve seed quality and germination.
