Description GUELPH MILLENIUM
Asparagus 'Guelph Millennium' is an early-season hybrid developed at the University of Guelph (Canada). It is characterized by high productivity and excellent spear quality: light green, dense, cylindrical spears with a width of 0.9–1.5 cm and a length up to 26 cm. The soft yellowish-white flesh provides a delicate taste and high commercial quality.

Spears reach a height of 150–200 cm during flowering, while leaves are small and needle-like. Buds are located at the base of vertical spears, and cladodes develop in leaf axils in groups of 3–6. The weight of one spear ranges from 100 to 120 grams, making it ideal for boiling, frying, canning, and preparing salads, sides, and soups.

For an optimal yield, dense planting is recommended – 33,000–35,000 plants per hectare in open ground or 5–6 plants per meter of bed row with 2-meter interrows. Planting depth is 15 cm. The variety is resistant to fusarium, rust, and root rot, ensuring a stable yield for the first three years of cultivation.
