Stable yields with "Tsarskaya" asparagus: cultivation insights

For those planning to establish an asparagus plantation for the long haul, selecting the "Tsarskaya" variety by Agrofirma Poisk is a strategic move.

Management and cultivation features

The primary advantage of "Tsarskaya" is its versatility. Depending on your agronomic techniques, you can harvest different types of shoots:

• With proper hilling, the shoots remain tender and white.
• Without shading or hilling, you harvest classic green asparagus.
• Under specific climate conditions, the tips of the shoots develop an attractive purple hue.

The plant exhibits excellent winter hardiness, which is vital for northern latitudes. Plantation maintenance is reduced to annual autumn pruning of dry stems and organic fertilizing. Since the bushes grow up to 200 cm tall, it is wise to set up a trellis or staking system beforehand to prevent wind damage.

Marketability and Economy

Designed for the fresh market, "Tsarskaya" excels due to its delicate taste. The shoots retain their commercial appearance for a long time, which simplifies logistics from field to shelf. The planting density allows for stable marketable yields starting from the third year after sowing. If you are looking for a variety that is forgiving for beginners and delivers predictable results under intensive cultivation, "Tsarskaya" is a reliable choice from the Poisk catalog.
