Variety distinguishing features. Variety — Nutans (nutans). Medium-height plants (67 — 80 cm). Anthocyanic coloration of leaf tips of moderate intensity, long, serrated awns. Two-row ear, with moderate waxy coating, cylindrical, loose (11.1 nodes per 4 cm), medium length. Sterile spikelet occupies position from parallel to slightly deviated. Flower bracts finely wrinkled, with weakly expressed venation, gradually transitioning into awn. Grains elliptical, yellow, glabrous. Main awn long-hairy. 1000-grain mass 48 — 52 g.
Biological characteristics. Maturity group — medium-early, vegetation period 79 — 89 days. Resistant to lodging (8.8 — 9.0 points), moderately resistant to drought (6.3 — 7.2 points). Variety is a source of group resistance to pathogens causing powdery mildew (8-9 points), downy mildew (7 points) and net blotch (7 points).
Agronomic characteristics. Semi-intensive type variety. Recommended seeding rate 4.0 — 4.5 million viable seeds per hectare. Standard agronomic practices for the cultivation zone, early sowing.
Under production conditions, yield reached 5.46 t/ha (OOO «Sudzha-Agroinvest» Kursk Oblast) and 7.63 t/ha («Agrofirm Dzulinka» Vinnytsia Oblast). Potential yield 8.5 — 9.0 t/ha. Grain has high brewing qualities: extractability — 80.5%, protein content 10.5 — 11.0%, starch content 60.8 — 61.2%, purity 98.5%, diastatic power 327 WK, friability 84.0%, β-glucan content 109 ppm. Yield of conditioned seeds 75 — 85%.
