Brewing. Year of inclusion in the State Register of plant varieties suitable for propagation in Ukraine — 2007. Recommended cultivation zone: Polissia.
Originator — Institute of Plant Growing named after V. Ya. Yuryev, NAAN.
Variety distinguishing features. Variety — Nutans (nutans). Plants of medium height (70–72 cm). Anthocyanin coloration of leaf tips weak, awns long and serrated. Spike is two-rowed, has moderate waxy coating, cylindrical and loose (11.7 nodes per 4 cm), medium length. Sterile spike occupies position from parallel to slightly deviated. Flower bracts are finely wrinkled, with weakly expressed venation, gradually transitioning into awn. Grain is elliptical, yellow, with husk. Main awn is long-haired. 1000-grain mass 46–52 g.
Biological characteristics. Ripening group — medium-late, vegetation period 79–97 days. Resistant to lodging (8.2–9.0 points). Drought resistance medium (6.5–7.0 points). The variety is a source of group resistance to pathogens of powdery mildew (7 points) and netted helminthosporium (7 points).
Agricultural characteristics. Intensive type variety. Recommended seeding rate 4.0–4.5 million viable seeds per hectare. Agronomic practices are standard for the cultivation zone, early sowing dates.
Under production conditions, yield of the variety reached 5.53 (Volchansk DSCS, Kharkiv region) and 5.60 t/ha ("Agrofirm Dzhulinka", Vinnytsia region). Potential yield 8.5–9.0 t/ha. Grain has good brewing qualities: extractability — 81.1%, protein content 9.0–10.9%, uniformity 98.8%. Percentage of conditioned seeds 75–85%.
