Originator — Institute of Plant Growing named after V. Ya. Yuryev, NAAN.
Variety distinguishing features. Variety — submedicum. Plants of medium height (68 — 79 cm). Anthocyanin coloration of leaf tips weak, awns long, serrated only in the upper part. Spike two-rowed, with strong waxy coating, cylindrical, loose (11.2 nodes per 4 cm), medium length. Sterile spikelet deviated. Flower bracts finely wrinkled, with weak venation, gradually transitioning into awn. Grain elliptical, yellow, husked. Main awn long-haired. 1000-grain weight 48 — 56 g.
Biological characteristics. Maturity group — medium, vegetation period 78 — 92 days. Resistant to lodging (8.6 — 8.9 points) and drought (7.4 — 8.4 points). The variety is a source of group resistance to infection by powdery mildew (7 points) and downy mildew (9 points).
Agricultural characteristics. Intensive type variety. Recommended sowing rate 4.0 — 4.5 million viable seeds per hectare. Standard agronomy practices for the cultivation zone, early sowing dates.
In production conditions, yield of the variety reached 5.84 t/ha (Volchansky DSCS, Kharkiv Oblast), 6.23 t/ha (OOO "Sudja-Agroinvest", Kursk Oblast) and 6.32 t/ha ("Agrofirm Dzhulinka", Vinnytsia Oblast). Potential yield 9.0 — 9.5 t/ha. Grain has high brewing quality: extractability — 81.0%, protein content 10.0 — 11.0%, uniformity 98.2%. Yield of conditioned seeds 75 — 85%.
