When selecting winter crop seeds, agronomists prioritize overwintering success and production stability. Developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute, "Parnas" is a variety specifically adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of Ukraine.

Agronomic Performance

Managing this variety is straightforward and predictable. With a plant height of 70-80 cm, the crop shows excellent resistance to lodging, which simplifies mechanical harvesting. The two-row ear type ensures uniform ripening, while the 80-90 day vegetation period allows for precise scheduling of fieldwork. With a thousand-grain weight of 48-50 grams, the crop provides strong seedling vigor and optimal stand density.

Protection and Resilience

In the field, the variety boasts an impressive 9-point winter hardiness score. This serves as a safety net, minimizing the risk of crop thinning after winter and eliminating the need for costly reseeding. Its genetic resistance to major pathogens also helps reduce the overall fungicide burden:

• Smut diseases (Covered, Loose, and Stem): The variety provides robust genetic defense, preserving grain quality and structural integrity.
• Powdery Mildew: Reduced susceptibility makes spring disease management much easier for the operator.
