Originator — Institute of Plant Breeding named after V. Ya. Yuryev, NAAN.
Variety distinguishing features. Variety type — submedicum. Plants of medium height (78 — 85 cm). Strong anthocyanin coloration at the tips of awns, awns long and serrated only at the upper part. Two-row ear, with strong waxy coating, cylindrical and loose (11.1 nodes per 4 cm), medium length. Sterile spikelet is bent. Flower scales finely wrinkled, with weakly expressed venation, gradually transitioning into the awn. Grain is elliptical, yellow, glabrous. Main awn is long-haired. Very large-grained — 1000-grain weight 55 — 58 g, up to 60 g.
Biological features. Maturity group — medium, vegetation period 78 — 102 days. Resistant to lodging (8.0 — 8.9 points) and drought (8.4 — 9.0 points). The variety is a source of group resistance to pathogens causing powdery and rust diseases (8 points).
Agronomic features. Semi-intensive type. Recommended seeding rate 4.0 — 4.5 million viable seeds per hectare. Standard agronomy for the cultivation zone, early sowing.
Under production conditions, the variety yielded 5.50 t/ha (Volchansky DSCS, Kharkiv region, and LLC "NPZ of Grain Farming named after A. I. Baraev", Kazakhstan) and 7.93 t/ha ("Agrofirm Dzhulinka", Vinnytsia region). Potential yield 9.5 — 10.0 t/ha. Protein content in grain 12.0 — 15.0%, uniformity 98.2%. Percentage of conditioned seeds 75 — 85%.
