ZHNEYA

ZHNEYA is a type of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) of moderate intensity, characterized by intermediate height and maturity. The vegetative period ranges from 226 to 269 days, with maturation occurring 2-5 days later than the standard Don 95. Plants are 77 to 111 cm tall, have a semi-upright bush, and pyramid-shaped heads of moderate density and length. The rachis is moderately developed, and the waxy coating on the head and flag leaf sheath is absent or very weak. The grain is colored, with the mass of 1000 grains varying from 36 to 47 grams. The variety belongs to the erithrospermum subgroup and possesses good baking qualities. ZHNEYA is distinguished by high resistance to lodging, shattering, and salinization, as well as medium to above-average winter hardiness, close to the Don 95 variety. Drought resistance is at the level of the Don 95 standard. Glume awn and rachis axis hairiness is weak, which contributes to good grain development and quality. The variety is moderately resistant to brown rust but susceptible to Septoria and common bunt, which requires attention during agrotechnical measures.
