IRIDAS

The IRIDAS soft winter wheat variety is a medium-maturing, medium-height or dwarf crop with a vegetation period ranging from 223 to 270 days. It is characterized by lodging resistance and drought tolerance, which is particularly important under changing climate conditions. Plant height varies from 71 to 99 cm, with a 1000-grain mass of 36-50 g. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus regions, including Krasnodar Krai, Kabardino-Balkaria, and the South-Foothill zone of Krasnodar Krai.

IRIDAS is distinguished by its excellent baking qualities: large grain, with protein content ranging from 13% to 16% and gluten content from 24% to 30.4%. Grain quality indicators meet the standards of high-value wheat, confirmed by VTSOKS data. The variety belongs to the erythrosporum group and possesses strong wheat characteristics, making it in demand for the production of bakery products.

The variety demonstrates moderate resistance to brown rust and powdery mildew, but is susceptible to glume blotch and common bunt, and highly susceptible to yellow rust. Winter hardiness and resistance to spring frosts are at or slightly above standard levels. The average yield of the variety ranges from 48 to 57.7 c/ha, with maximum values reaching up to 107.9 c/ha, making IRIDAS one of the best wheat varieties for cultivation in the specified regions.
