SELYANKA ODESSKAYA

The winter soft wheat variety 'Selyanka Odesskaya' is a mid-early and mid-height type bred by Russian breeders. It is characterized by a vegetative period ranging from 235 to 287 days and exhibits high drought tolerance and heat tolerance, making it suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including steppe and eastern regions. Plants reach heights from 75 to 99 cm, and the mass of 1000 grains varies between 31.5–47 g, indicating good yield potential.

The variety demonstrates high resistance to lodging and shattering, as well as good winter hardiness. It is resistant to major fungal diseases, although it may be susceptible to brown rust, septoria, and hard head smut. These characteristics ensure harvest stability and reduce risks of losses under adverse weather conditions and diseases.

Wheat 'Selyanka Odesskaya' is distinguished by its excellent baking qualities: protein content in the grain ranges from 13.8% to 14.7%, and gluten content from 28.8% to 33.6%. The mass of 1000 grains and raw gluten indicators provide good milling value, making this variety in demand for producing high-quality flour and bakery products. The productivity potential of the variety reaches 6.69–12.0 t/ha, confirming its high yield and economic attractiveness for agricultural production.
