YANCHENKO MEMORIAL

YANCHENKO MEMORIAL is a mid-maturing variety of hard spring wheat (Triticum durum Desf.), developed by selection from a hybrid population. It belongs to the hordeiforme type and is characterized by high yield and improved pasta qualities. Over the years of testing, the variety has shown stable results, with an average yield of 25.8–36.2 centners/hectare, which exceeds the indicators of some other varieties. The grain is characterized by a high mass of 1000 grains — from 41 to 50 grams, which contributes to the high quality of the final product.

The variety has good drought resistance, which makes it suitable for cultivation in various regions, including West Siberia and East Siberia. It is moderately resistant to such diseases as bunt and stiff bunt, as well as brown rust. At the same time, the variety is susceptible to powdery mildew, septoria, and root rots, which requires the use of seed dressing with fungicides in a mixture with insecticides and carrying out fungicide treatments during the vegetation to protect the crops.

YANCHENKO MEMORIAL is characterized by technics for production and does not shed, which facilitates harvesting and improves the quality of the grain. It is widely used for the production of pasta and semolina due to the high quality indicators of the grain and pasta properties. The sowing rate is 450–600 pieces per square meter depending on the sowing dates, and the variety demonstrates average resistance to lodging, which contributes to a stable harvest.
