Wheat Stolichna

Consistency and Performance in Field Conditions

The «Stolychna» wheat variety, developed by the National Scientific Center «Institute of Agriculture of NAAS», is a strategic choice for agricultural enterprises aiming for reliable yields amidst climate instability. With a vegetation period of 90–100 days, this variety offers the flexibility needed to mitigate risks associated with unpredictable seasonal weather patterns.

Field-Tested Disease Resistance

The practical value of «Stolychna» lies in its robust resistance profile, which effectively simplifies agronomic management. The variety demonstrates high tolerance to key pathogens such as leaf rust, septoria, and root rot. By integrating this variety into crop rotation, producers can significantly reduce the pressure of fungal diseases like powdery mildew, fusarium, and tan spot, allowing for more precise and cost-effective fungicide applications.

Production Metrics and Agronomy

• Yield Potential: 7–8 tons per hectare under optimized growing conditions.
• Stand Density: 4.5–5.0 million productive stems per hectare, ensuring a thick canopy that suppresses weed competition.
• Winter Hardiness: Rated at 7–8 points, providing high security against harsh winter conditions and ensuring successful spring regrowth.
• Seed Quality: 1000-kernel weight of 40–45 g, contributing to excellent germination energy and uniform crop establishment.

Standing at 90–100 cm, the plants exhibit high lodging resistance, which is critical for modern harvesting operations. «Stolychna» represents a balanced solution for farmers looking for a resilient crop that delivers stable, high-volume production without requiring excessive or experimental inputs. It is a workhorse variety designed to perform consistently in the fields of Ukraine.
