Selyvita

Selyvita is an intensive winter wheat variety designed for universal use across various agroclimates, especially recommended for cultivation in the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. It is distinguished by high adaptability to dry conditions due to its xeromorphic structure, ensuring resistance to heat and drought. The variety features a medium-early vegetation period, plant height ranging from 94 to 102 cm, and a thousand-grain weight between 39–41 g. The recommended sowing rate is 4.5–5.5 million germinating seeds per hectare, promoting optimal growth and high productivity of the crop.

One of the key advantages of Selyvita is its high yield, reaching 7–9 tons per hectare, significantly exceeding national standards. The variety exhibits enhanced tillering and regenerative capacity, allowing it to recover after damage. It is resistant to lodging, shattering, frost, and winter-hardy, ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions. Additionally, Selyvita demonstrates high resistance to several diseases, including root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew, reducing the risk of losses and the need for intensive chemical protection.

The quality of Selyvita's grain is also high: it is a strong wheat with flour strength of 386–412 arbitrary units, gluten content of 28–32%, and protein content of 13.4–14.2%. These characteristics make this variety attractive for producing high-quality flour and bakery products. The variety is suitable for cultivation following non-leguminous predecessors, including sunflower and cereal stubble, expanding its potential integration into crop rotation. High winter hardiness, drought resistance, and lodging resistance make Selyvita a reliable choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality yield under variable climate conditions.
