Wheat Soborna

Stability and Adaptability: The Soborna Wheat

The 'Soborna' wheat variety is a product of breeding efforts by the Institute of Irrigated Agriculture of NAAS, specifically designed to withstand the climatic challenges of the Ukrainian steppe zones. As a beardless variety, it represents a modern solution for growers who prioritize technical efficiency and controlled risk management.

Agronomic Profile and Resistance

This variety displays remarkable resistance to common pathogens, making its genetic potential highly valuable in high-pressure environments:

• Comprehensive Defense: The crop is effective against root rots, septoria, and Fusarium head blight.
• Phytosanitary Barrier: The plant shows resilience against powdery mildew, brown spot, and Mycosphaerella leaf spot, which significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications.
• Mechanical Strength: With a plant height of 60-70 cm, the variety offers excellent lodging resistance, simplifying harvest and minimizing yield loss in the field.

Grain Quality and Market Positioning

The grain characteristics of 'Soborna' make it a sought-after commodity. The thousand-kernel weight ranges between 45-50 grams, indicating well-filled ears. The gluten content is 20-25%. These metrics make the variety an excellent choice for farms focused on balanced commercial production. Its low-growing structure makes it well-suited for intensive cultivation technologies, ensuring a strong response to fertilizer application.
