Solovushka

Solovushka — this is a winter soft wheat variety, developed by intraspecific hybridization and registered in the State Register of Varieties of Ukraine since 2018. It belongs to the medium-late and cold-resistant varieties with a vegetation period of 280–285 days. Plants reach a height of 90–105 cm and are characterized by high resistance to brown rust, powdery mildew, drought, and shattering. The variety is highly adaptable and suited to various soil-climatic conditions, enabling successful cultivation in both southern and northern regions. Solovushka is a high-yielding and high-productive variety capable of producing yields of 10 tons per hectare and above when sown at the recommended rate of 4.5–5.0 million seeds per hectare. It responds well to nitrogen fertilization, which enhances both yield and grain quality. The grain contains 14.6% protein and 23–25.8% gluten, making it highly sought after in the food industry. The grain is known for its excellent flavor and versatile use, including flour, groats, and baked goods. Solovushka exhibits high resistance to sprouting and germination of grain, as well as resilience to soil and air drought, erosion, frost resistance, and winter hardiness. These characteristics ensure stable yields even under adverse conditions.
