SARATOVSKAYA 55

SARATOVSKAYA 55 is a soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety developed by Russian breeders of the Federal Agrarian Scientific Center of the South-East. It belongs to medium-late maturity varieties, with a vegetative period of about 89-96 days, and is characterized by a medium-stature plant type. It is capable of forming high-quality grain with a 1000-grain weight of 33-38 grams and has medium resistance to lodging, which ensures yield stability under various cultivation conditions.

The variety is distinguished by high grain productivity; with medium doses of mineral fertilizers and good soil moisture availability, yield can reach 50 centners per hectare and more. SARATOVSKAYA 55 shows medium resistance to powdery bunt and viral diseases, however it is not resistant to brown leaf rust, which slightly affects the quality and quantity of the harvest. The variety responds well to increased levels of agronomy, which allows to fully reveal its potential.
