Veselka

Veselka — a medium-late maturing soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety with a vegetation period of 83-95 days. The plant is medium-height, plastic, resistant to lodging and grain shattering in the ear, and moderately drought-tolerant. The ear is cylindrical and moderately dense, the grain is large, red, first type, with a 1000-grain weight of 34-50 g. The variety is included in the State Register for the Volga and Ural regions and is recommended for cultivation in the Republic of Bashkortostan and Kurgan Oblast. The average yield of the variety in the region reaches 23.8 centners per hectare. Regarding bread-making qualities, Veselka falls into the category of filler to weak wheat, with flour and bread-making qualities at the level of the Omsk 35 standard. The grain consistently meets at least III class quality in terms of gluten content and overall quality. However, the variety is susceptible to diseases such as powdery mildew and rust. Additionally, the Veselka variety is widely used as feed wheat for compound feed production. It is characterized by high energy value and nutritional content, making it a high-quality plant-based feed for livestock. This variety is not intended for human food use, but is valued for its high yield and beneficial properties in the feed industry.
