ROSS 180 MV is an early-maturing double-cross hybrid corn with FAO 180, intended for grain and silage production. The hybrid is characterized by a rapid start and early plant development, ensuring high cold resistance and adaptability to various soil types. The vegetation period is approximately 94 days, allowing its use in regions with a short warm season. ROSS 180 MV features moderate resistance to lodging and good suitability for mechanized harvesting, making it convenient for modern agronomic technologies.
Morphologically, the hybrid has a dent-type kernel with yellow-orange coloring on the upper part. Leaves of medium width with curved blades and a small angle between the leaf and stem. Early-flowering tassel, with dense ears and medium-length lateral branches. The stem is weakly colored with anthocyanin, indicating weak root and leaf sheath pigmentation. Average grain yield across regions reaches 29 centners per hectare, while dry matter yield varies from 53 to 90 centners per hectare depending on the region, with dry matter content around 22-39%, ensuring high-quality forage mass.
The hybrid exhibits good resistance to major corn diseases such as bacterial blight, gray leaf spot, white rot, and Fusarium ear rot, as well as moderate resistance to stalk borer damage. Due to its high drought resistance and rapid water release from kernels at maturity, ROSS 180 MV is a reliable choice for cultivation in Central, Volga, West Siberian, and other regions with diverse climatic conditions.
