AL VARIUS is a variety of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with a medium-late maturity period and a vegetative period of 83-94 days. The plant is of medium height, with a semi-erect stalk and weak straw. The head is pyramidal, medium density, white in color, with short awn-like appendages and colored grain. The weight of 1000 grains varies from 31 to 42 grams. The variety belongs to the lutescens group and is recommended for cultivation in the Middle Volga region, in particular in the Republic of Tatarstan.
The yield of the Al Varius variety is stable and high: the average yield in the region is about 31.3 c/ha, and the maximum reached 62.8 c/ha. In Tatarstan, the variety shows an addition to the standard Hayat of 3.3 c/ha at a yield of 43.4 c/ha. The variety is resistant to lodging and drought at the level of the standard, but is susceptible to powdery and hard head smut, as well as highly susceptible to brown rust. Under field conditions, powdery mildew affects it weakly.
AL VARIUS is distinguished by high baking qualities, the grain meets the requirements of class 2-3 according to quality standards. During the testing years, the variety demonstrated protein productivity above standard varieties, and its test indicators and valormetric assessment confirm the suitability of the grain for the production of high-quality bread without the use of improvers. The overall baking assessment of the variety is at the level of good and excellent quality, making it a valuable choice for commercial cultivation and production of bakery products.
