POLEVİK is an intermediate-type soft winter wheat variety with high intensity, characterized by well-defined steppe ecotype traits. It belongs to the group of medium-early varieties with a vegetation period of 280-288 days and an average stem height of 90-100 cm. The variety is distinguished by good resistance to lodging and grain shedding, as well as high winter hardiness and drought and heat tolerance, making it particularly adapted for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones. POLEANIK is versatile in terms of agricultural technology, responds well to the application of mineral fertilizers, especially nitrogenous top-dressings, and can be successfully grown on various predecessors and at flexible timings, including late sowings and less favorable conditions. Yield of the POLEVİK variety during variety trials reached 73.4-82.5 c/ha, which exceeds the indicators of standard varieties. High yield is ensured by high tillering (up to 600-700 productive stems per square meter) and good spikelet graininess, containing 3-4 grains. The grain is of medium size, with a mass of 1000 grains ranging from 36.7-43.4 g. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to main diseases: hard head smut is rated at 7-8 points, brown rust at 8-9 points, powdery mildew at 6-7 points, as well as moderate resistance to stem scald. The grain quality of POLEVİK is high, confirmed by gluten content of 29.1-30.7%, protein of 13.7-14.1%, and flour strength of 340-400 arbitrary units. Baking properties of the variety are excellent; bread volume from 100 g of flour reaches 1520-1760 cm³, making it a food-grade variety. Thanks to its resistance to unfavorable climatic conditions and diseases, as well as high technological characteristics, POLEVİK is a reliable choice for cultivation in various regions with moderate and arid climates.
