Lgovskaya 8

LьGOWSKAYA 8 is a type of soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) of medium maturity with a vegetation period ranging from 287 to 316 days. The plants are of medium height, reaching from 79 to 112 cm, with a semi-erect bush and a cylindrical, loose ear of medium density and length, with white color. The grain is colored, and the weight of 1000 grains varies from 38 to 50 grams. The variety belongs to the erythrospermum type and is characterized by lodging resistance, which contributes to crop preservation under unfavorable weather conditions.

The variety is distinguished by good winter hardiness, exceeding the average level and corresponding to the Inn standard, as well as increased drought resistance, which is 0.7-1.0 points higher than the Fedina Memorial standard. LьGOWSKAYA 8 is resistant to powdery mildew, but susceptible to brown rust. The baking qualities of the variety are assessed as good, making it valuable for the production of high-quality flour and bakery products.

Recommended for cultivation in the Moscow and Vladimir regions, and included in the State Register for the Central, Central Black Earth, and Middle Volga regions. The average yield of the variety in the region is about 36.0 centners per hectare, while maximum indicators reached 73.5 centners per hectare in the Moscow region. The variety was created based on a hybrid population with participation of varieties LьGOWSKAYA 77, Odesa 16, and Moscow 70, which ensures its adaptability and yield stability.
