OMSKAYA 44 is a variety of soft spring wheat bred at the Omsk Agrarian Science Center and included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia since 2021. The plant reaches a height of 110-117 cm, has a pyramidal, white, and awnless ear. The vegetation period lasts 78-89 days, making the variety medium-early maturing. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 29 to 38 grams, indicating large grain size and high raw material quality. Omskaya 44 belongs to strong wheats, possessing high gluten content and excellent baking properties. The variety is characterized by high resistance to lodging and powdery bunt, ensuring crop stability under various climatic conditions. However, it is susceptible to brown rust, septoria, and root rots, requiring careful monitoring and application of protective agronomic measures. The yield of Omskaya 44 in the West Siberian region reaches 31.1 centners per hectare, in the East Siberian region — 36.8 centners, and maximum figures were recorded in Krasnoyarsk Krai — up to 78.4 centners per hectare. Special attention deserves the baking qualities of the variety: high alpha-lipase activity and protein content make flour from Omskaya 44 in demand among Russian processors. When boiling pasta made from this wheat, it retains its shape and does not break apart, confirming its universality and high quality. The variety is recommended for cultivation in Krasnoyarsk Krai and Omsk Oblast, where it demonstrates stable productivity and adaptability to local conditions.
