LEADER 80

LEADER 80 is a medium-late variety of intensive soft spring wheat created at the Altai Breeding Center. It is intended for cultivation in the West Siberian and East Siberian regions, including the Altai Krai, the Republic of Buryatia, the Zabaykalsky Krai, and the Steppe Forelands of the Krasnoyarsk Krai. The variety is distinguished by medium height and high yield, which averages 27.3 centners per hectare in the West Siberian region and 33.4 centners per hectare in the East Siberian region. Potential yield can exceed 7 tons of grain per hectare, significantly outperforming standard indicators for medium-late varieties.

LEADER 80 is characterized by complex resistance to leaf diseases, including powdery mildew, brown rust, and stem rust, as well as high resistance to lodging, which ensures yield stability. The variety has good baking qualities, forming large grain with a natural weight of 768 g/l and gluten content of 14.4%, as well as a high level of gluten in flour — 30.2%. By technological and baking properties, the grain is classified as medium quality.
